The manufacturing scale is the relevant fact and also the most misread one. That a factory builds for several brands does not make those brands equivalent: the specification a unit was built to, the components chosen and the warranty behind it are set by the company whose name is on the box.

If you buy Gree equipment through an online seller and have a contractor install it, settle the warranty question in writing first — coverage on equipment bought outside normal distribution is a recurring source of disputes across the whole category, not just this brand.
